Le temps file et le mois d’avril est bientôt termine. Pendant le mois, les membres du collectif on fait des battles, pratique et travaille sur divers projets.

Cote compétitions, Effect et Afternoon ont pris part à Freestyle Session Canada à Toronto et Earn Your Stripes d’Adidas à Montréal ou Afternoon a été invité.

Cote danse, mis à part travailler sur de nouveaux spectacles pour le collectif, Lucas a travailler sur un petit défi; chorégraphier 30 danses différentes en 30 jours. Vous pourrez les trouver sur sa page YouTube. Finalement Effect a donné un atelier de Powermoves au studio Disstorsion.

Time flies and the month of April is almost done. During the month, crew members have been battling, practicing and working on various projects.

Finally, be on the lookout for updates in our show category as we will be sharing some of our past productions along with some of our new ones to come.

Le mois de février est passé vite. Effect a remporté le 7 to smoke de la compétition Viva Break sur la rive nord de Montréal tandis qu’Afternoon a été à Hamilton afin de juger le battle de Bboying King Of Steel.

February came and went as Effect participated and won the 7 to smoke battle Viva Break that happened on the north shore of Montreal while Afternoon went to Hamilton to judge the King Of Steel Bboying battle.

Pour le mois de janvier, Afternoon a été à Ottawa afin d’aller donner des cours de danse et organiser un spectacle avec les jeunes de l’école primaire St Stephen de Stittsville. Effect lui a été à New York afin de prendre part à la compétition Urban Style en House et Bboying. Malgré n’avoir pas remporté celle-ci, il a su se rendre en semi-finale.

For January, Afternoon spent the month in Ottawa teaching kids at the St. Stephen school in Stittsville and putting a show together with them. Effect went out to New York and took part in the Urban Style battle in House and Bboying. Although he didn’t take the win, he made it all the way to semi-finals.

Pour terminer l’année, Rascallion a organisé un battle Allstyles à Ottawa: Rumble Outside The Box. A Montréal, le crew s’est rassemblé afin d’organiser le MTL Bboying 10 year anniversary.

To wrap up the year, Rascallion decided to throw an Allstyles battle in Ottawa. Back in Montreal, the crew got together to throw the MTL Bboying 10 year anniversary.

Le mois de novembre à été tranquille. Afternoon a été invite à juger la compétition Allstyles Heir To The Throne organise par le Mcgill Student Street Dance club et a eu la chance de monter sur la scène avec Bboy Benzo (Bag-O-Trix) et Dingo (Illmask) durant le concert de K-Os à Montréal.

The month of November was a quiet one. Afternoon was invited to judge an Allstyles battle organized by the Mcgill Student Street Dance club and had a chance to hop on stage with Bboy Benzo (Bag-O-Trix) and Dingo (Illmask) during the K-OS show in Montreal.

Pour le mois d’octobre Effect s’est associe à une troupe de danse Afro Cubaine en tournée en Amérique du Nord pour performer avec eux a la Place Des Arts. Il a aussi performé avec le groupe Swing au Québec. Afternoon lui a voyage vers Winnipeg afin de prendre part à la compétition Allstyles du Canadian Television Hip Hop et a remporté la première place. Il a aussi pris le temps de donner un atelier de danse au studio Live Dance Studio.

For the month of October, Effect connected with an Afro Cuban dance company touring North America and performed with them at Place Des Arts. He also toured with Le Groupe Swing and performed around Quebec. Afternoon went and travelled to Winnipeg in order to take part in the Canadian Urban Television Hip Hop award dance competition and won the Allstyles dance competition and took the time to teach a workshop at the Live Dance Studio.

Le mois de septembre est hôte du plus gros événement Hip Hop à Ottawa: House Of Paint. Similaire a son événement jumeaux Under Pressure, il fait place a musique, graffiti et Bboying. Cette année Deadly Venoms Crew s’est pointe avec la victoire en tête et se sont rendu jusqu’en finale. Malgré qu’ils n’aient pas gagne, la foule était plus que satisfaite de leur performance. Quelques jours plus tard, Rascallion, Tangles et Afternoon sont descendu à Hamilton pour l’événement Express Yourself. Malgré être une compétition 2vs2 Rascallion et Tangles se sont inscrit en solo, se rendant respectivement en demi-finale et top 32 chacun tandis qu’Afternoon jugea la compétition Allstyles. De retour à Montréal, Afternoon commence une soirée intitule Zulu Nights afin de réunir la communauté de Hip Hop à relaxer et échanger un mardi soir. Finalement, à la fin du mois, Effect et Afternoon se sont déplacé vers Toronto pour prendre part à la compétition de Hip Hop et de House 1vs1 Step Fighter. Judge par Yugson de Serial Stepperz/Wanted Posse cette compétition avait u nouveau système de jugement. Afternoon a su ramener le titre de la catégorie Hip Hop à Montréal.

September is home to Ottawa’s Biggest Hip Hop event called House Of Paint. Similar to its brother event Under Pressure, it features Music, Graffiti and Bboying. This year Deadly Venoms Crew came down with the victory in mind and made it all the way to the finals. Although they didn’t come out victorious, the crowd was more than thrilled of their performance. A couple of days later, Rascallion, Tangles and Afternoon went down to Hamilton for the Express Yourself Jam. Rascallion and Tangles entered the 2vs2 Bboying competition each solo while Afternoon was judging the Allstyles competition. Lucas was able to make it all the way to semi-finals while Tangles made top 32. Back in Montreal, Afternoon started organizing Zulu Nights, a meetup for the Hip Hop community on Tuesday nights to relax and exchange. Finally, torwards the end of the month Effect and Afternoon travelled down to Toronto for the Step Fighters 1vs1 House and Hip hop battle. Judged by Yugson of the Serial Steppers/Wanted Posse, it was a very special competition with an interesting twist on the judging system. Afternoon was able to take the Hip Hop title back to Montreal

Le mois d’août est toujours un moi remplis pour le crew côté danse. Il a commencé avec un voyage à Ottawa où Afternoon a été DJ pour la soirée Hip Hop 90 Back Into The Groove. La fin de semaine suivant a été passe à Montréal au Festival International Under Pressure ou le crew organise plusieurs événements et compétitions de danse. Tout de suite après l’événement Afternoon a voyage vers Moncton et Caraquet afin d’organiser des ateliers et de performer. De son côté Rascallion a été à Winnipeg ou il a remporté la compétition All Styles Keep It Live. A la fin du mois Afternoon est allé à Toronto ou il a gagné le 1vs1 House Mi Casa Su House et à Detroit ou il a pris part à la compétition Remarkable Flava et a gagné la compétition 1vs1 Toprock tout en se rendant en finale de la catégorie Allstyles.

Back In The Groove event recap

The month of August is usually a packed month when it comes to dancing for the crew. It started off with, a trip to Ottawa where Afternoon was Djing for the Back in the Groove 90s Hip Hop party. The following weekend was spent in Montreal at the International Under Pressure Graffiti Festival where the crew organises and holds various street dance events and competitions. Following that event Afternoon travelled to Moncton and Caraquet to host workshops and perform. Rascallion on his side went off to Winnipeg to take part in the Keep It Live allstyle battle and won the event. To end the month, Afternoon headed to Toronto where he won the 1vs1 House dance competition Mi Casa Su House and to Detroit where he took part in the Remarkable Flava jam and won the 1vs1 Toprock and made it to finals in the Allstyles category.

Area 51 est considéré comme la plus grosse compétition de danses de rue à Toronto avec les catégories Popping et Allstyles. Rascallion et Effect sont allé participer à cette compétition et Effect est revenu victorieux en Allstyles. Pendant ce temps à Montréal, le Souljazz Orchestra était de passage avec deux spectacles gratuit lors du Festival International de Jazz. Tangles et Afternoon ont pris cette opportunité pour danser et apprécier la bonne musique.

Area 51 is considered to be the biggest street dance competition in Toronto with Popping and Allstyles battles. Rascallion and Effect went down and Effect came back victor from the affair in the Allstyles Category. Meanwhile in Montreal, the Souljazz Orchestra held a performance 2 nights in a row free outdoors. Tangles and Afternoon took that opportunity to get down and enjoy the good vibes.
