Le temps file et le mois d’avril est bientôt termine. Pendant le mois, les membres du collectif on fait des battles, pratique et travaille sur divers projets.
Time flies and the month of April is almost done. During the month, crew members have been battling, practicing and working on various projects.
As far as battles go, Effect and Afternoon took part at Freestyle Session Canada in Toronto while Afternoon was invited to represent at the Adidas Earn Your Stripe event.
On the dancing side, aside from working on new shows as a group, Lucas has been working on a little dance challenge to line up 30 days of choreography in various styles. You can find them on his YouTube page. We’ve shared a toprock one he did with Afternoon. Effect went on to give a powermove workshop at Disstorsion studios. We’ve also included a recap of it below.

February came and went as Effect participated and won the 7 to smoke battle Viva Break that happened on the north shore of Montreal while Afternoon went to Hamilton to judge the King Of Steel Bboying battle.
For January, Afternoon spent the month in Ottawa teaching kids at the St. Stephen school in Stittsville and putting a show together with them. Effect went out to New York and took part in the Urban Style battle in House and Bboying. Although he didn’t take the win, he made it all the way to semi-finals.
To wrap up the year, Rascallion decided to throw an Allstyles battle in Ottawa. Back in Montreal, the crew got together to throw the MTL Bboying 10 year anniversary.
The month of November was a quiet one. Afternoon was invited to judge an Allstyles battle organized by the Mcgill Student Street Dance club and had a chance to hop on stage with Bboy Benzo (Bag-O-Trix) and Dingo (Illmask) during the K-OS show in Montreal.
For the month of October, Effect connected with an Afro Cuban dance company touring North America and performed with them at Place Des Arts. He also toured with Le Groupe Swing and performed around Quebec. Afternoon went and travelled to Winnipeg in order to take part in the Canadian Urban Television Hip Hop award dance competition and won the Allstyles dance competition and took the time to teach a workshop at the Live Dance Studio.

September is home to Ottawa’s Biggest Hip Hop event called House Of Paint. Similar to its brother event Under Pressure, it features Music, Graffiti and Bboying. This year Deadly Venoms Crew came down with the victory in mind and made it all the way to the finals. Although they didn’t come out victorious, the crowd was more than thrilled of their performance. A couple of days later, Rascallion, Tangles and Afternoon went down to Hamilton for the Express Yourself Jam. Rascallion and Tangles entered the 2vs2 Bboying competition each solo while Afternoon was judging the Allstyles competition. Lucas was able to make it all the way to semi-finals while Tangles made top 32. Back in Montreal, Afternoon started organizing Zulu Nights, a meetup for the Hip Hop community on Tuesday nights to relax and exchange. Finally, torwards the end of the month Effect and Afternoon travelled down to Toronto for the Step Fighters 1vs1 House and Hip hop battle. Judged by Yugson of the Serial Steppers/Wanted Posse, it was a very special competition with an interesting twist on the judging system. Afternoon was able to take the Hip Hop title back to Montreal

Back In The Groove event recap
The month of August is usually a packed month when it comes to dancing for the crew. It started off with, a trip to Ottawa where Afternoon was Djing for the Back in the Groove 90s Hip Hop party. The following weekend was spent in Montreal at the International Under Pressure Graffiti Festival where the crew organises and holds various street dance events and competitions. Following that event Afternoon travelled to Moncton and Caraquet to host workshops and perform. Rascallion on his side went off to Winnipeg to take part in the Keep It Live allstyle battle and won the event. To end the month, Afternoon headed to Toronto where he won the 1vs1 House dance competition Mi Casa Su House and to Detroit where he took part in the Remarkable Flava jam and won the 1vs1 Toprock and made it to finals in the Allstyles category.
Area 51 is considered to be the biggest street dance competition in Toronto with Popping and Allstyles battles. Rascallion and Effect went down and Effect came back victor from the affair in the Allstyles Category. Meanwhile in Montreal, the Souljazz Orchestra held a performance 2 nights in a row free outdoors. Tangles and Afternoon took that opportunity to get down and enjoy the good vibes.
